Carlsbad Beach Real Estate – The Best Things in Life are Found in a Cup
January 31, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Like some people, I kind of have this thing for desserts and everything sweet and ice cold. Just the thought of it makes me crave already. It is actually a thing I have had even when I was a kid that I could omit the main course as long as I have the dessert. And like some people, too, I am definitely a beach bum and love the sand on my feet and the sun on my skin. Thus, after taking long hours under the sun I always long for something cold to drink or eat. I just love something cold melting in my mouth because it gives you a fresh cool feeling and it takes away too much heat in your body after swimming or jogging by the shore.
So that is usually the mission after going to the beach: finding this little piece of heaven. So it is not a wonder why when given a menu, I usually start at the back where what I came there for are found. In fact, among the things to taste in Carlsbad that I usually crave when I go out of state and one of the few things I find utterly worth spending for is a Niederfrank’s Pumpkin Chiffon ice cream that you would find in Vinaka Cafe which is pretty good and is something really different from your ordinary ice cream at home. It does not only have a tasty attitude to it, but is also very healthy and they do have quite a creative presentation to top all of that.
I remember the cashier telling me that the cafe is actually quite famous for its ice cream and indeed it was an experience. I enjoyed looking at the ice cream I ordered, it was a feast to just look at and the taste is incomparable. One of the other desserts on the menu that I look forward to trying is the coconut and chocolate cake. Just like their ice cream, your mouth would water with just the sight of it. Well, for those people with a sweet tooth, there is also a place nearby called Yogurt Shack that serves quite a variety of flavors of quality and rich creamy yogurt. You can even choose from an array of toppings on that frozen yogurt which do taste as good as it look. It’s like cheating on your diet healthily. You get the best of both worlds with eating yogurt.
There is also this mouth-watering oatmeal cookie frozen yogurt that is just so heavenly to your taste buds. Even peanut butter addicts would find their own thing there on top of that frosted creamy yogurt. I like it more when the toppings are those really delicious fruit toppings which are plenty enough to keep your eyes rolling. Going to Carlsbad is definitely incomplete without trying these amazing favorites of mine which are definitely the things to taste in Carlsbad. The best things in life, after all, is served in a cup.

Carlsbad Homes for Sale – Pizza Port Experience – Casual in Carlsbad
January 30, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
A casual place that serves good food and drinks at reasonable prices is not easy to find these days. What is even more frustrating is trying a new place that does not meet your expectations and ending up quite disappointed at the fact that you did not get your money’s worth. So it was to my great delight when I bumped into a friend of mine from college who was gracious enough to invite me to this place to eat in Carlsbad where I always pass by but have never actually tried. She and her whole family dropped by to this place one time and had a wonderful time there.
American pizza and beer lovers would surely find Pizza Port a perfect place to dine with its child-friendly and local atmosphere and very laid back setting. Basically, they serve local cuisine at prices ranging from $5-10. Aside from pizzas and in-house brewed beers, their specialties also include salads, hot chicken wings, ice cream and the best pizza sauce in town. Eating there is never a bore because it is often packed with people who are eager and willing to wait in line. This informal hangout is almost always full all week long. Sitting on those picnic benches most often leads to new acquaintances and people who happen to enjoy a different beer than the one you’re having.
Students from nearby colleges and families visit this place not only to eat and drink but also to chill and tinker with video games and indulge in surf videos. On top of that, you can also view and play your favorite sports and electronic games in their big TV screens! It occasionally hosts a couple of crazy festivals like the international beer tasting competition. And the best part about all this? It offers great prices to match their excellent food and beer. You could actually choose from half a dozen beers that are part of a single combo price. Plus, trying samples of a handful of house beers for free before making your choice isn’t that bad at all.
And for those who are in it for a little adventure, you can stop by the next door store where you can find a wide selection of carefully brewed beers from different countries around the world. Who knows? You just might find there your favorite beer. They have about 40 great beers on tap, including a many award-winning ones. You can even try every single one until you find the right fit for your taste buds and might just have a little chitchat with the master brewer on the beers that are served. You can also find another Pizza Port somewhere in Solana Beach, though this one at Carlsbad is a much bigger place for a bigger and louder crowd. I liked it my first time there when I went looking for a place to eat in Carlsbad and so did a lot of people who have since kept coming back for another pizza experience.

Carlsbad Real Estate – Romantic and Italian in Carlsbad
January 29, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
My husband and I just recently celebrated our 5th anniversary and, for a change, I took liberty at taking care of the preparations for our anniversary dinner. I was a bit lost where to take him for dinner since we pretty much have been quite adventurous in our choices of food and places to dine that we do not usually go back to the same restraunt twice or thrice. We have agreed to do that long ago to keep from boring ourselves by going to the same place over and over again. I guess that kind of worked for us in those 5 years. So one day, upon my mom’s prompting, I drove down south of California to check out this place she was talking too much about and just found what I was exactly looking for.
I insist that people who are looking for a romantic place to eat in Carlsbad must try Vivace Restraunt which is located at Four Seasons Resort in Aviara. It is a classy romantic place that elegantly serves italian cuisine. If you get lucky, you just might get the spot on the terrace that is over looking the grounds of the resort. I was lucky enough to have had our reservation early in the week prior to our big day so if anyone would want that spot, do the same. Though the price is extraordinarily high, ranging from around $35-50, you definitley have the assurance of getting your money’s worth with their excellent food and first-class service.
At first I was a little bit hesitant about it but that terrace was just too irresistible to let go. Besides, if it is for someone special, expensive is never a very costly word. Their courses are carefully matched with excellent wines from Italy that just simply bring out the taste in the food you are having and gives that delicious after-taste. You can even have the help of their eager staff that just seem to have that exquisite taste in everything italian. It even surprised us when one customer ordered an entire case of assorted italian wine to bring home.
While experiencing this 5-star restaurant is best had with someone special around, even single men and women who dine alone just might be similarly blown away by the great ambiance and their beautiful food presentation. Their service staff are astonishingly knowledgeable about which food to pair with which drink, not to mention attentive and courteous. Among my many favorites are their black spaghetti and Valrhona chocolate for dessert. They also have this amazing choices of meats and artisan cheeses that are always done with fresh ingredients.
That anniversary is surely one to remember. In fact, we have kept going back there whenever we run out of places to eat in Carlsbad. Though it is a little hard on the budget but it is very much satisfying and truly worth-remembering every time. Perfect is even not the word to describe the whole experience at the Vivace Restaurant.

Luxury Carlsbad Real Estate – Carlsbad Starbucks – A Place to Relax
January 28, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
A cool place to eat in Carlsbad that most people like to keep going back to even on an ordinary weeknight is just around the corner of Carlsbad Boulevard and Lincoln Streeet. It is called Vinaka Cafe. The last time I went there they actually had this very creative Hawaiian theme and the place just looked so pretty, a cool breeze in the air and very tropical that I even had the idea of taking my break in the carribean this summer. They are open until late evenings and keep a casual laid back atmosphere where everyone just keeps their tones low. It is hard to find a place these days where people understand that you are there to relax, not to stress yourself out some more. It is an independent cafe that kind of reminds you of your local neighborhood where you grew up as a kid and where you seem to know almost everyone.
It has pretty much retained its appearance over the years. It is like leaving town to go to college and still come back to see it is still the same coffee shop you once knew. Locals here simply enjoy their coffee over a heated game of chess. I just recently noticed that those who go there are actually a great diversity of people you would not quite find anywhere else. That must be the reason why it is very inviting to people watch. It is just like a local Starbucks, only that it is way much cheaper! Who would ever think you could actually have a cup of coffee for only a dollar and get your cup refilled for free.
They have very friendly service crew and cheap but excellent espresso coffe. Having a good book to read or just the National Geographic or Discovery on their flat screen is quite a relaxing way to chill in a quiet town. The walls of the place is also a host to the works of local artists which are being featured there. I must say the place is not shabby at all for a local coffee house. It would be more interesting though if they would have a poetry night of some sort to shake the place a little bit and so that people would have something crazy to expect once in a while.
It is really one cozy place to be in with a variety of comfy chairs to choose from and especially with that whiteboard that is always scribbled with daily quotes. Its very comfortable environment is fit for solo relaxation or bringing along some friends to study for exams. And hey, they don’t offer just coffee. They also have a wide array of teas, some of which I find so delicious and yummy like the Soy Chai tea lattes which are both sweet and spicy at the same time. Aside from coffee they also have this Niederfrank’s Pumpkin Chiffon which is also a favorite, aside from their delicious bagel sandwiches for lunch.
It offers outdoor seating, good free 3-hour parking and a treat for those who are always looking for free wi-fi zones. I usually stop by along with my Macbook and while away the time surfing the net over a cup of coffee. It’s the coolest place to eat in Carlsbad. I just love it there.

Carlsbad Homes for Sale – Enjoying the Things to Taste in Carlsbad
January 23, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Few of the things to taste in Carlsbad that I have found really sinfully good and tasteful are pizzas, pastas, wine, and everything Italian. My mom is a big aficionado of Italian cooking and is, in fact quite good at it. She took some lessons on the cuisine back in New York just to impress us all. So unabashedly I could say I have very critical say when it comes to those pizzas and pastas.
Since I moved to Carlsbad last month I could not believe how I would miss my mom so bad just by dropping by quite frequently this Italian restaurant that just makes me feel like home every time. That loud warning in your head that sirens when you are tempted to have something loaded with calories will be inaudible when you get the experience of trying real good Italian cuisine in Carlsbad, trust me. After all, you just cannot help it. Things forbidden do have a secret charm. We usually desire even more the things denied to us. They are very much inviting when you least want them. I kind of stopped bothering to resist those forebodings a long time ago. It just is futile to keep looking away but your mind is at it still. What a torture that is!
To start with, my favorites in this little haven include among others, Pizza Carlsbad which goes with great cheese, a lot of pepperoni, and a very spicy sauce. It is best when matched with a freshly brewed homemade beer on the side. If that pizza alone is not enough to fill you, then you can also order hot wings and some fresh lettuce and tomatoes on the side? Aside from great pizzas, I also worship pastas and fine dining thus if you might happen to be around Carlsbad, Vivace’s black spaghetti is something you should not miss to try which is made even more unique a dish by the addition of some calabrese sausages.
And for those who just simply love a creamy and buttery sauce, the Risotto ala Astice is a must-have! For starters though, a roasted tomato soup is just perfect to begin a spectacular meal with plus burrata side dishes to tame a bit the craving within. A good way to wrap up this good meal would be to enjoy a grapefruit honey dessert and a glass of Italian wine. Among the many things to taste in Carlsbad, a few of them I certainly find quite sinful but heartwarming at the same time. I might just get used to this place since it reminds me a lot of home and my family which I do not really get to see much often. Perhaps, I should start loving the gym, too!
For those of you who have the opportunity to explore Carlsbad, do not leave the city unless you have tried the best it has to offer. For sure, your taste buds will have a feast on these various sumptuous local delights.
