Vacation Life Year-Round in San Diego!
Sat, 14th January 2012
When people are asked which city they would choose to live in, most of San Diego’s popular cities are mentioned. One of these is the beautiful City of Vista.
Vista is located just seven miles from the Pacific coastline, in the Northern part of San Diego County. Year-round outdoor activities are especially enjoyed by both residents and visitors alike as they live in the pleasant rural surroundings with perfect Mediterranean climate that lasts all year. It is a good idea to consider purchasing a Vista Real Estate property, especially as it is ranked seventh best place to live in the United States for family life, wherein the basis are jobs and business opportunities, good schools, climate, culture, low crime rate and cost of living.
Vista real estate properties have magnificent, panoramic view of the rural surroundings. Homes are near recreational, cultural areas and city amenities so good quality way of living is ensured. The famous open-roof, Greek-inspired Moonlight Amphitheatre is also located here. Vista also sports twelve community parks perfect for joggers, bikers, skaters, and other physical exercise and recreation – even playing baseball and tennis!
It is also wise to note that Vista real estate properties are affordable, ranging from, at the lowest, $110,000 to $1,700,000 for a single family, and $185,000 to $5,700,000 for multi-family. Condominium units, Coop and Townhouses may range from $50,000 to $367,000. Some may find these figures out of reach, however, the State of California ensures interested buyers that they find ways to make Vista residences more affordable by offering various housing loan packages for those families with a tight budget.
Another equally beautiful and heavenly place in San Diego is Carlsbad! Carlsbad has earned a reputation as one of the best places to visit for a vacation, thanks to its world-class resorts and beaches, eclectic boutiques and shops, top restaurants and perfect, year-round weather. But despite its reputation that sounds like a busy downtown city, Carlsbad still maintains a harmony of rural, laid-back personality distinct of most San Diego cities, so one can relax in the beach and then go shopping or in a business center just around the corner.
There are a lot of Carlsbad homes for sale, may it be a castle-like refuge overlooking the ocean, to a nice villa near the lake. Old houses have been renovated to improve its strength but its classic aura still remains. In addition, there are modern condominiums and houses built for families who wish to start anew. Prices range from around $700,000 to $1,000,000 for more exclusive real estate ringed by a panoramic landscape. Condominium and townhouses range from $300,000 to $2,000,000. . The best place to start to look for Carlsbad homes for sale is of course, in the internet. There are also a number of realtors and agencies to guide you in finding your dream Carlsbad home!

No doubt surfing, swimming and sunbathing are the first things to come in mind when you hear Solana Beach and Oceanside. Well, these two charming cities in San Diego, California live up to their names.
The City of Solana Beach is also known for shopping in one of its eclectic shops and boutiques, an assortment of art galleries, furniture shops, surfing shops and other unique stores. The climate is also very well-loved by residents and visitors – warm summers and winters that are just a few degrees cooler. Fogs may at times embrace the fringes of the coastline but as the sun shines in the midday, they would disappear.
Solana’s beaches are unique in one very important way – they are almost inaccessible horizontally, due to the fact that cliffs directly plunge into the water. Fortunately, staircases were created along the cliffs, and most street corner has one waiting for you! This makes a trip to one of Solana’s beaches even more adventurous, as you may descend one staircase and find yourself alone and reminisce with the sunset, or have fun with friends and family in a tide pool by the shore!
Solana Beach real estate agencies can help you find your dream spot in this beach haven. If you are considering purchasing a Solana Beach real estate property soon, then it would be beneficial to know that being one of the most desirable properties, the average price for a property would be just above $1,000,000. However, it would prove to be a great investment! In 2004, an average home was on the market for only 28 days!
Let’s move on to Oceanside, California then! Located at the northern part of San Diego county, Oceanside takes pride in its beautiful beaches, perfect surf and the best vacation weather all-year round. Oceanside is notable for its historic Oceanside Pier, built in 1888 and is the longest in wooden pier in the western United States coastline.
So why consider an Oceanside real estate property? Well for starters, its beautiful beaches and rejuvenating breezes can bring wonder to someone’s mind and health! In addition, crime rates are well below the national average and the economy is very well-handled, perfect for those who are looking for a new place to raise a family. Oceanside real estate properties cost at around $275,000 at the median, or an average of $190 per square foot, so it’s really a very good deal to grab a piece of Oceanside!
Carmel Valley real estate
Ever wondered how good it is to live alongside nature and yet enjoy the benefits of a modern city? Well, Carmel Valley and Fallbrook of San Diego, California, just may be the place that can answer that.
With its tranquil surroundings, it is no wonder why Carmel Valley real estate owners and residents never thought twice about staying for good. Located at a considerable distance from inland and from shore, Carmel Valley has maintained a beautiful harmony that sums up to paradise. Most properties are spacious enough for one to have their very own vineyard, or even build a stable. Lucky owners of properties with small lakes enjoy the occasional visits from Canadian geese. A lot of the properties also have giant oaks and glorious stone pines. Though this may sound as if Carmel Valley is located away from civilization, one can have all these and yet be minutes away from shopping, dining and art galleries that are scattered around Carmel Valley.
Fallbrook real estate properties are also as loveable as that of Carmel’s. Situated just 18 miles away from the Pacific Ocean, Fallbrook residents enjoy a slightly Mediterranean climate with the exhilarating scent of the prevailing ocean breezes. Fallbrook is well known for its rolling hills, lush groves, nature preserves and magnificent oak trees. Equestrian and walking trails are also available for everyone to enjoy.
For a lot of visitors in Fallbrook, it was easy for them to acquire a property here as it is easy to fall in love with Fallbrook. Fallbrook real estate has proven to be a good, stable investment, as the values of the properties have increased at an average of 30% in 2004. Price is also good, with the range from $150,000 to $9,000,000, depending, of course, in the type of house you are looking for.
The people in Fallbrook are very friendly and outgoing despite the vast diversity of the people living here. You may meet your boss as both of you commute to your workplace, or greet a friendly farmer and ask how the produce are doing – you may even have for yourself a good deal!
Clearly, Carmel Valley and Fallbrook are an ideal start for families to be built, or for those who just want a change from the busy, upbeat city life. There are a number of Carmel Valley real estate and Fallbrook real estate websites and agencies that can help you find your dream home. Whether you are single or starting to raise a family, Carmel Valley and Fallbrook are a perfect retreat – and home – for you.
Escondido Real Estate
Are you considering acquiring a piece of Leucadia real estate and yet still in need of a little nudge to do it? Well, here are some facts that you might find interesting about Leucadia.
Leucadia is located south of Carlsbad and north of Encinitas. And, like most of the beach communities that these parts are proud of, Leucadia also brags pristine waters and a hefty dose of surf, sun and sand. As you may have noticed, Leucadia was named after a Greek Isle of the same name, and therefore the influence reflects in its streets that bear the names Vulcan, Pluto, and Jupiter.
One unique fact about Leucadia is that it has remained almost the same as it was 30 years ago. The “old county” feel lingers in the streets and avenues, and the lively people here desire to keep it as it is. With that in mind, in addition to the heavenly scent courtesy of heritage Eucalyptus trees, imagine how relaxing it is to stay (for good) in Leucadia.
Leucadia real estate properties range from $200,000 to more than a couple million dollars and that is taking into account the vast choices of the type of property you want to the location.
“Leucadia” may be translated to “a sheltered place” or “isle of paradise”. Residents testify to this. But if you are looking for another place similar to Leucadia, then consider Escondido real estate properties!
Escondido, Spanish for “hidden”, is a little farther from the sea. In fact, it is situated north of the city of San Diego, on a shallow valley surrounded by rocky hills. If you’re into boating or fishing with your little champs or just for fun, Escondido offers three lakes for that. There are also six golf courses in Escondido if you’d rather enjoy a round of golf. Escondido boasts its warmer climate than San Diego, and is perfect for growing avocados, oranges, walnuts and grapes. Further relaxation and nature-tripping can be done in one of its fifteen parks!
And yet the fun does not stop there. On the Friday nights of April to September, the streets warp back in time as pre-1970’s vintage cars tour Grand Avenue. All kinds of the classics – vintage, customs and antiques – attract residents and visitors alike to the streets of Escandido!
Another must-see in Escondido is its Grape Day Parade and Festival which falls on the first Saturday after Labor Day. This commemorates the fact that grapes were once (and still) one of the primary produce of Escondido.
So if you are more interested in lush environment and fresh mountain breeze, then it’s time to consider an Escondido real estate property now.

Carlsbad Real Estate
In dealing with Carlsbad luxury real estate for many years, I have gotten to know the people with whom I share this great area. Many of us, during the holidays or other special times of year, like the thought of getting out of town for a few days. Hard to believe, right? Yes, I love Vista CA real estate and the entire coastal area of Carlsbad; but it never hurts to visit friends and family or just head to another region now and then. It makes you appreciate what you’ve got!
Before traveling from Vista CA real estate, it’s important to know the best ways to ensure a safe journey. Here, I’ll offer up six very common tips so when you head away from home; you know all will be well.
1. Don’t advertise! This tip should begin before you ever leave home. We live in times where people like to stay connected using social media; but you should never post that you’re leaving town on such sites. Perhaps it’s unlikely that bad guys are really watching your profile. However, I have to say I wouldn’t want to leave my Carlsbad luxury real estate a target!
This careful behavior must continue as you set out for your road trip as well. As you make pit stops along your journey, always put maps completely out of site so passersby cannot see that you’re not from the area. If your vehicle contains loads of luggage, park where you can see it if possible, or unload baggage at your hotel before strolling the town.
2. Book rooms wisely. When booking hotel rooms, especially at roadside hotels, the safest place to stay is in an upstairs room. While this is less convenient in terms of loading and unloading baggage, an upstairs room keeps you away from an open parking lot and also gives you the opportunity to scan the lot before leaving.
3. Look like you know where you’re going. Never carry your map with you when walking through an unknown city. If you need to ask directions, do so inside of a place of business rather than asking someone on the street where to go.
4. Check your hotels refund policy. It’s probably that you will book your hotel reservations before ever heading away from home. However, sometimes plans change and you’re forced to find a place to stay on the fly. In such instances, be wary of hotels which post “No Refunds for Early Checkout”. Travel experts claim that more often than not, such a policy goes hand in hand with some unsavory condition. Better to keep looking, or at least ask to see the room before willingly accepting such a policy.
5. Consider truck stops. Should you find the need to stop for some much needed rest, it may help to know that truck stops are some of the safest places to go. Not the rest stops located off highways, truck stops specifically for big-rigs. Such areas typically have 24-hour security and drivers who are accustomed to staying aware of immediate surroundings. The drawback: noise!
6. Get local information through conversation. When visiting a new area, read the local papers and also chat with the locals as you dine or stroll the town. This way, you can stay abreast of any important advisories and enjoy a safer, more well-rounded trip. You might even find a fascinating locals-only place to visit!
Living in Vista CA real estate, or any other San Diego location is really amazing; but we all need a change of pace sometimes. Travel should be fun, but also safe. These tips are just some that can enable you to get the most out of road travel.
Carlsbad homes for sale
I say this all the time: there’s no better place to live than Southern California if you want to enjoy a wide variety of experiences. This is precisely why I specialize in San Marcos CA real estate and other local areas! I love showing Carlsbad homes for sale to folks who are coming from entirely different states because I know what is in store for them. Today I’m going to venture into the great escapes we get to enjoy in Southern California. Fasten your seatbelt! These are all destinations you can drive to right from San Marcos CA real estate or any other San Diego location!
For the perfect grown-up round trip through Southern California, start at San Marcos CA real estate, and maybe check out a few Carlsbad homes for sale, then make a drive up to Pasadena to begin this three day trip. In Pasadena, you can stroll through Old Town and peruse local shops before grabbing some lunch at one of the swanky local dining establishments.
From Pasadena, the town of Montrose is only a few miles. This serene village is located within the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, nearby the charming Descanso Gardens. When it’s time for a snack, check out Bashan, a popular restaurant with locally grown ingredients.
After your jaunt through Montrose, it’s time to hit Los Angeles where you can stroll through The Grove shopping mall or walk down Sunset or Rodeo. Whatever it is that peaks your interest, you can find it in LA! Here, you’ll settle in for a restful night before heading down the coast on Day 2 of the trip.
From Los Angeles, head down the coast to Newport Beach. Among the many things to see and do in this coastal town is to visit Cannery Village, located off Via Lido street at Balboa Peninsula. Here, you’ll be charmed by brick sidewalks and boats pulled right up to dock as passengers unload to enjoy local fish fare. Cannery Village consists of eight blocks where artists and musicians proudly display their talents. If you don’t feel like walking much on Day 2, visit the Regency Lido Theatre for a flick. This venue originally opened in 1938!
After your stroll through Cannery Village, your trek will continue in Costa Mesa, just seven miles away. In Costa Mesa, you can spend the rest of your day strolling South Coast Plaza. This upscale shopping destination provides ample window shopping as well as several dining experiences. Without a doubt, you can stay busy here for the remainder of Day 2.
Day 3, the last day of your fun Southern California road trip, will move you closer to home with a jaunt through Temecula Wine Country. It has been said in recent years that the wines coming out of Temecula rival those Napa has become famous for, so this part of your trip could be an eye-opening experience! The drive to wine country alone is fabulous; full of rolling hillsides lined with grape vines. Choosing where to stop for a bit of wine tasting is the most difficult thing you will face on Day 3. Wilson Creek Winery is known for their fun tasting room and their one-of-a-kind Almond Champagne, while South Coast Winery includes a famously decadent restaurant with amazing patio seating.
If you really want to make a day of it in Temecula, you can check out the hot air balloon tours, or visit nearby Perris for some exciting sky-diving!

Carlsbad Beach Real Estate
San Diego is really all about the coast, even for those of us who have lived our whole lives in Carlsbad beach real estate! What is so great about this little part of Southern California is that no matter what neck of the woods you call home, you have great mountain escapes just minutes away. How much better can it get than to wake up in Cardiff by the Sea real estate and head to the hills, only to return late and night to the sounds of crashing waves? Really, a tiny piece of heaven has fallen and landed right in San Diego!
Today I want to focus on a serene mountain getaway located less than an hour from Carlsbad beach real estate. The small rural town of Julian is essentially across the entire county from this starting point; but can be reached very quickly and offers something for the whole family. I’ve been here with small children, and also with that special someone and had a great time without fail. Here are just a few of the high points there are to Julian.
The town of Julian is famous for their apples, and no trip is complete without a stop to Julian Pie Company! This family-owned business has been serving up pie and spiced ciders for decades and simply can’t be beat. For a more comprehensive dining experience, stop by Mom’s Bakery. Here, you can watch pie-makers craft crusts and fillings while you warm up with a steaming cup of soup.
One of the most popular activities for families is to spend a few hours picking apples at one of the local apple orchards. Kids of all ages get into choosing the perfect fruit to take home. At “Apples and Art Orchard”, you do more than just wander through rows and rows of trees; here, the owner gives you a talk all about apples, including how to pick them. Once you’ve been amply informed about this powerful fruit, you can head out into the fields with your handy apple picker and fill your bag!
For tea lovers, a visit to Julian Tea and Cottage Arts is a must. In this charming turn-of-the-century home, tea is served daily along with finger sandwiches and scones with whipped cream. To satisfy your sweet tooth, you might try one of their various desserts or come away with a jar of homemade jam to enjoy at home.
Of course, Julian is also a place for the avid outdoorsman; replete with fishing, hiking, biking and camping activities. There are miles of trails to enjoy in the mountain retreat; all you need to do is visit a local ranger station to determine which trail is most suitable for you and your party.
Although Julian is not a destination for skiing, many locals flock to the mountain during times when snow levels drop to lower elevations. Come by at such a time and you’ll see folks parked on the side of the road, busily building snowmen or throwing snowballs playfully. Because Julian is less than an hour from Cardiff-by-the-Sea real estate, or any other coastal location, I view it as the ideal place to visit for a change of pace.
Oceanside Real Estate
When you’re out and about, there is a higher potential that the subject of personal safety is more obvious than when you are at home. It makes sense, whether you own Oceanside real estate or have a place down in Carlsbad, that home is your haven where you tend to feel safe and protected. However, as a Carlsbad realtor for several years, I have seen a thing or two; and thus feel that it’s always good to throw out a reminder every now and then that a little common sense can go a long way in truly making your home a safe haven.
The subject of personal safety is an important one. By facing the fact that no area is immune to home invasion or other hazard, you build a higher sense of awareness and overall personal safety. You shouldn’t walk around your Oceanside real estate feeling afraid that home invasion is inevitable – that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that it doesn’t matter where you live; taking certain measures to protect your valuables and your person is wise. Let’s look at a couple of really simple ways to make sure your home is never a target.
It seems obvious, but light is the enemy of bad guys. When your home is well lit, it instantly becomes a safer place. What I’ve heard time and time again from safety experts is that special security lighting is ideal for use on a home’s exterior. If your home has a driveway, a side gate, or any dark areas in the front or the rear of the property, add lighting! For very little investment, you can find security lighting and have it professionally installed. Motion sensor lights are ideal; and you may be able to find solar powered types so you never have to remember to turn these important fixtures on.
How, or if, you answer your door to visitors is another very important safety habit. Many people feel so comfortable in their homes that they willingly open doors without even looking to see who’s on the other side; a big mistake even if you have a door chain that makes you feel safely tucked away from harm. The first thing that you can do at the door to improve safety is install a specialized peephole that gives you a better view of the outside world. Some peepholes today are actual camera screens that run on batteries.
If you’re not into the tech toys, you may prefer a fisheye peephole. This type looks very similar to your standard peephole, but offers a panoramic 220-degree view of the outside. With a fisheye peephole, you may be able to see not only who is directly at the door but also anyone who may be standing off to the side or down at the street. What’s great about the fisheye peephole is that the person outside the door sees only vague light images should they look in from the outside.
Why are these specialized peepholes so special? Because they keep you from having to fully approach your front door when an unexpected visitor arrives. Staying farther away from the front door is safer should the visitor try to kick at the door.
Your home, whether Oceanside real estate or a bungalow in Leucadia, is where you want to experience the best in life. Let these tips be your launching pad to adding the necessary security precautions and you can pretty much assure bad guys will pass over your place.
Carlsbad Real Estate
You can’t get much better than Southern California when choosing where to settle down and spread some roots. It doesn’t matter if what part of San Diego County you live in, you’ll find plenty of great things to do all throughout the year. You could live in Carlsbad real estate and take in amazing ocean views, or you might live right in the heart of the city; any of the fun winter activities mentioned here are within just a short drive.
I love Southern California not only for our beautiful weather. I also love that everything feels so close! I love that this part of the state can lead one to sprawling Rancho Santa Fe real estate or to a condo in a high rise just a hop skip and a jump from the downtown harbor. I love that no matter what part of the county I help someone move to, they can get to the beach or the mountains in under an hour. Now THAT’s a great place to call home if you ask me!
So what do we do during the winter months to keep life interesting around here? Let’s look at some of the most popular activities easily accessible to anyone from Carlsbad real estate to Rancho Santa Fe real estate to that cozy Hillcrest bungalow.
- Disneyland
Let’s just start with the place of true magic all year round. Through the years, Disneyland theme park has become an oasis of fun for the whole family. This isn’t a place only for out-of-towners to frolic during family vacations; it is a place where we locals like to escape to every once in awhile. During the holiday season, the park transforms into a winter wonderland that includes a winter fireworks show and awe inspiring holiday parade of lights. Everywhere you turn in Disneyland during the winter months, you’ll be treated to incredible light displays and festive music. At the Haunted Mansion, you can take in a “Nightmare before Christmas” feel before sitting with a warm cup of cocoa to enjoy the nightly firework display.
- Big Bear Mountain
Of course, winter is not complete without a little snow play, and Big Bear is just the place to get it. On the mountain, you’ll find two resorts: Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. Either provides great fun for skiers and snow-boarders. For those who are more interested in tubing, Alpine Slide is the place to go. While you can find places to pull over and take in some roadside sledding, those places are becoming more few and far between so to make sure you get in on the action, it’s best to head straight to one of the local designated spots. After a day on the slopes, Big Bear Village is the place to go for some relaxing window shopping or even a romantic dinner.
- San Diego Bay Parade of Lights
How else do you celebrate the holidays on the coast that with a parade of amply decorated yachts, kayaks and sail or power boats? This San Diego tradition has grown to attract more than 80,000 people as the parade flows through San Diego’s waterfront each year. After the parade, attendees are treated to a holiday fireworks display. The event is free; but parking can be an issue so it’s recommended to show up early with plenty of blankets, snacks and warm cocoa or cider!
You may already own Carlsbad real estate, or may just be considering if San Diego is the place you want to call home. With so many great activities for the whole family, it’s hard to find any reason NOT to stay here forever.
San Marcos CA real estate
In the event you have decided to move, congratulations! Moving to a new house, or even a new city or State, can be a very exciting, yet undoubtedly overwhelming time. You may be moving as the result of a new position, or moving because of a new spouse. Whatever the reason you are looking to move, there is a great deal which you will need to do between the time the mortgage paperwork has gone through, up until the time you lay your head down on your bed during the first night at the house. While it may seem completely overwhelming, take a deep breath, and relax! The hard part is done, the mortgage paperwork is all through and you have signed your signature no less than 50 times on all those forms. So what do you need to do in order to make sure everything goes smoothly with the move?
The first thing you should do right away is change your address with the postal service. This should be done as early as possible, in order to avoid any potential conflicts with your mail delivery, as well as to attempt to avoid any late mail which could be critical. Luckily, this is a very easy step which can be accomplished either over the internet, or in person at your local post office. There is a simple form in which you need to complete, which will ask for your prior address (the address you are moving from) as well as your current address (the new property address). It will also ask which specific date you would like this change to occur and it is advisable to have this date be for the first day you will be spending at your new residence.
A second, equally as important, task you should complete immediately upon moving would be to update your pet’s license with the new community. Almost every individual town has their own pet licensing requirements, and failure to comply with these rules can lead in fines, as well as the possibility of your pet being removed from your own. This would also be the best time to update your address in the event your pet has a microchip imbedded, as well as change the address and phone number on their pet collar. After moving, some dogs can become disorientated, and with not knowing their new neighborhood at all, it would be an awful experience for your beloved pet to mistakenly get loose, only to realize you still have your old contact information on their tag. These steps should only take a few minutes each, and can be accomplished by visiting your local municipality, which will be able to explain the certain requirements for maintenance of a pet within the community.
While you may feel a tad overwhelmed with all the tasks awaiting your completion after you move, rest assured that not all of them need to be completed right away. While there are certain things which can be put aside and completed on as ‘needed’ basis, you should consider at least changing your address, as well as updating your pets information, immediately upon arriving to your new location. Working with your Del Mar Real Estate or even a local San Marcos, CA real estate agent can help make the move an easy transaction. These are steps where although it only takes a few short minutes, can result in a lifetime of ease.
